Brief Biography
Coach Gourley's Philosophy
Coach Gourley has over 12 years of youth coaching experience,
9 specifically with this age group. A former Division I college
football player, four year letterman and single game sack
record holder at Missouri State University, Coach Gourley
currently coaches in high school where his team won a CIF
Southern Section Championship. ABC 7 TV honored coach as
the NFL Southern California High School Coach of the Year in
2004. He has coached at the college level, 6 years at the youth
level and enters his seventh year at the high school level. He
has coached football players from the age of 5 to the age of 24
and takes pride in his ability to coach players at an age and
ability appropriate level.

Coach Gourley believes that it is the role of
any football coach to discover the potential in
each player and then maximize that potential
through proper training, conditioning and
teaching. Football is the greatest sport due to
its combination of intellect, speed and power.
All of this is done within the context of team.
When each individual player understands
their role and responsibility, then they can let
their athletic ability take over. Our goal at the
Camp is to teach not only the basics of
football, but to begin to help each young
athlete discover their passion for the sport
and what role best fits them.
